Tracking and Changing Your Thinking Patterns

OVERVIEW

"Modus" is an app helps people document emotions and analyze flaws in thinking. This is an app for gradually changing people's approach to anxiety-inducing situations and thinking patterns for future situations.

SITUATION

In the past year, 74% of people have felt so stressed they have been overwhelmed or unable to cope.

1. When people are getting busy, mental health is easily ignored. 

2. The professional psychological consulting is not easily accessible, because it costs much time and money.

3. As the society is bombarded with information, the professional platform for only sharing emotions is deficient.

1. "Modus" helps people monitor their emotional changes, reminding people the awareness of mental health care.

2. "Modus" provides specific suggestions from habit formation to professional courses to users to change their anxiety-inducing situations and thoughts gradually.

Key Features

1.Record moods

When users open "modus", users can record their feelings today by holding the blue circle in the center. The longer time they hold, the higher pressure of users means. There are different faces in different edges, so users can precisely express their feelings.

3.Moods analysis

The app will record how users feel in a week or a month. Through the analysis of these recording, it will evaluate the happy level of users. If users are in depression, some suggestions will be provided

2.Suggestions

Suggestions will be provided based on the analysis. After users choose symptoms, specific suggestions will offered to help users solve the problems.The suggestions are easy to achieve and work for better life.

4.Ecofriendly-Rewards

Modus encourage users to fulfill their plans by using design and substantial rewards.When users keep fulfilling plans for a month, Modus will plant a tree for users as a gift for starting a new and happy life.

Synthesize Learnings

Goal

1. Get the feedback from interviewees for future improvement.

2. Find what feature is the most attractive.

3. Find the pain points in process.

Process

I invited five potential users to do the interviews. They are from different locations, with different ages.

After simple introduction, I describe Modus to them.I firstly talked about the problems nowadays, and my inspiration from that.Then I explain what Modus is and what the key features are.

Then, I asked interviewees for their feedbacks and suggestions. They all give me really candid suggestions.

Finally, I asked them to rank my four features and how to make improvements for my work.

Good points

1. Easy to follow tasks flow.

2. Suggestion part is interesting and users can share their suggestions to each other.

3. The comparison in Analysis is a good idea.

Bad points

1. Recording part is still little unclear. 

2. There should be more data supports in Analysis  part.

3. Some suggestions require professional eveidences to support.

4. Tips in suggestions is not very exciting.
